Back

We're back in Buenos Aires after an absurdly long bus ride that involved not winning BINGO and also watching Crossroads (the Brittney Spears movie) and some other movie called Drive Me Crazy that involved one of those interchangable blond actors who always plays 16-year-olds. And yes, the Brittney Spears song. It was awesome, let me tell you. Also, driving across Patagonia is like driving across western Kansas or something for thousands of kilometers. It wasn't actually as bad as it sounds, but I'm kind of glad to be done with busses for a bit. Of course we'll have a long plane ride on Monday-Tuesday, which will be worse....

Meanwhile, we're trying to get ourselves together for this leaving thing (which I really just don't want to do).

Miami looks like it's shaping up to be pretty big, and interesting, and hopefully not a disaster. There are going to be something like 6000 cops mobilized, 2500 in the downtown area. Apparently the Iraq appropriations bill included $8.5 million to fund Miami's law enforcement whatnot. And I've heard "tens of thousands of protesters" mentioned here and there. Hence, interesting....

For a laugh, read some rhetoric and lawmaking, and of course there's some good information: ftaaimc.org
